Updating a scheduled post immediately posts it to the Fediverse

This is an old bug but I’d like to bring it up once more because it makes write.as close to unusable for my purposes.

When I edit an existing post, reschedule it to a future date, and save, write.as posts to the Fediverse as “now *” but timestamped on the scheduled date. The screenshot below is from February 1, 2026.

In the past it wouldn’t say “now *” but the scheduled future date. This may be a change caused by a Mastodon update.

The way I want it to work is

  1. write.as posts on the scheduled time/date;
  2. my main Mastodon account picks this up via RSS;
  3. and posts it to Mastodon;

Is there any hope for a fix in the foreseeable future? Or as a temporary solution, can I disable federating from write.as so these posts don’t show up until my main Mastodon account posts them via RSS?

Hey @settima , thanks for touching base here :slight_smile: I’m going to go ahead and forward this too Engineer Matt, and see if there’s a fix / debug in the close-future.

Regards,
Peter

Much appreciated!
