Unpublished posts remain published?

I unpublished due to no ability to add a PDF or rtf or similar file like in snap.as for pictures. Pity, but I do not want the GDPR and other responsibilities involved in using an alternative service for adding a simple PDF or document to a post.

@matt I noticed unpublished posts remain published for anyone who has the original slug. Also through search engines these posts remain accessible directly.

Hmm, how did you unpublish a post? Through the website, by deleting the post? Or by using a mobile app (and if so, which one)?

@matt using the web site:
moving post from public to private, slug remains accessible
unpublishing the blog, slugs remain referenced in google and accessible

You sure it’s not cache related? Anytime I’ve moved a published post back to “anonymous”, the URL/slug isn’t live.

Slugs now yield a page not found, but the unpublished domain is still active. I guess that’ll change when I move it away.

Pity there is no possibility to host a pdf or docx on write.as / attach.as
I would have stayed.
