Today we introduced our very first, very minimal bit of Remark.as functionality: private email replies!

Thank you, Matt. A great, and simple initial step. Am I understanding correctly, that to reply by email, I need to:

  1. already be subscribed to the blog;
  2. receive the email of a new blog and reply to that via email, not via the webpage.

Thanks, Patrick! Yes, both those points are correct. I figured this was the best place to start, as it means we can use real email addresses while still limiting who sees them (only confirmed subscribers).

Beyond that, we’ll give readers the option to send email replies via the webpage. That’ll involve a protective layer in Remark.as that keeps everyone’s email address private from spammers and other people they don’t want to reveal it to.
