Over the last couple of days I have occasionally been prevented from publishing posts. I get a Javascript message saying “Failed to post. Please try again”. Trying again does not resolve the issue.
This happened to me two days ago, also in the evening (UK time). I left the post unpublished in the browser and it published okay the next morning. It happened to me again just now, so I don’t know if the timing makes a difference.
I normally create my drafts as Posts before moving them to my Blog so I don’t know if this would impact publishing directly to my public blog.
This is different from the ‘you’re publishing too much’ behaviour which I occasionally get.
Additional info: I thought I’d try if I could change the publication date of the post by setting it to ‘Now’, and not only did that work, but it also enabled me to publish. Not sure why that would make a difference, but I thought I’d report it.
I’ve had a similar issue. Not all the time, but frequently when I try to post I get “Failed to post. Please try again. (404)” Usually if I wait a few minutes and then try again it is able to post, but it can be slightly annoying and require multiple attempts. Is there any way to remedy this?
Sorry for the trouble, everyone. Some things were temporarily misconfigured, which could’ve caused this to happen occasionally. We figured out the issue and patched it, so this should be fixed now. But please let me know if you still run into trouble!
