Markdown support for checkboxes

Does the markdown editor support checkboxes?

something like:

  • [ ]
  • [x]

At the moment I don’t think the editor supports checkboxes. As an alternative you could try is combining bulleted lists and strikethroughs:

  • Like
  • This

But checkboxes are part of the push of many here to get Extended Markdown onto the platform. Perhaps this is something @matt and the team are already working on in lieu of other requests.
