I would like to create a blog for private use. A sort of journal, ideally protected by a password.
I need to include some photos, and I was thinking of using snap.as.
However, the privacy of those photos is not clear to me. I assume that even if the blog is protected by a password, those images are still accessible through their url, right?
Is it at least an impossible-to-guess link?
Would a person be able to see all the photos just by knowing my username in snap.as?
I am also curious about what is the content policy for private blogs and photos, specifically nsfw photos, but that’s for another post I guess.
Individual photos hosted at Snap.as do have hard to guess URLs. However, your Snap.as profile URL is much easier to guess as it’s https://snap.as/your.write.as.username
The profile page is in fact pretty obvious, but it seems empty unless I create a gallery. If my understanding is correct, there is no way to see all photos uploaded by a user.
Yep, that’s correct. Unless you add those photos to a gallery, they won’t show up on your Snap.as profile and the full collection will remain private to you.
I like the integration between snap.as and write.as. Can I count on the same longevity goals for the photos? Is there an option to export those together with the markdown posts, as a backup?
