@matt I think this may be of interest to you.
The EU has a “new” Directive against SLAPP’s. The DIRECTIVE (EU) 2024/1069 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 11 April 2024 on protecting persons who engage in public participation from manifestly unfounded claims or abusive court proceedings (‘Strategic lawsuits against public participation’)
In its point 22 it states:
“Bringing claims not against a journalist or a human rights defender but against the internet platform on which they publish their work or against the company that prints a text or a shop that sells the text can be an effective way of silencing public participation, as without such services opinions cannot be published and thus cannot influence public debate.”
If you ever receive take-down requests from or originating in or about blogs by people in the EU, or on issues relating to the EU, you can dismiss them.
