I have never had a blog or actually know how the process works. I want to anonymously write thoughts I have about the current state of our country, America, as well as our history and how the two come together. I do not want to receive responses, because I do not want to debate or get validation. I just want to express my thoughts, feelings and observations. I just created an account. What is the next step?

Welcome, it sounds like you’re in the right place! By default, Write.as is anonymous / can be pseudonymous, and doesn’t have commenting enabled. So for next steps, I’d suggest picking a name for a blog that doesn’t identify you personally – it can be anything you want – and then start writing! You can publish your posts to your blog, and then they’ll all show up in one place for anyone that comes across them.
Beyond that, it’s up to you for how to promote it and find readers. You could always share your blog / individual posts on other social media sites, or if you upgrade to Pro, you can make your blog “Public” so it shows up on our Read Write.as site. Otherwise, feel free to not promote it at all and simply shout into the void of the internet – that’s perfectly fine too
