I migrated my Mastodon account from @amoroso@fosstodon.org to @amoroso@oldbytes.social However, when sharing posts of my blog on Mastodon the author byline still links to the old account.
On Write.as I entered my new handle @amoroso@oldbytes.social under Customize > Verification. On Mastodon I entered the hostname journal.paoloamoroso.com under Preferences > Public profile > Verification > Author attribution > Websites allowed to credit you. Yet the byline still links to the old account. What’s strange is in the HTML code of my blog I can’t find <meta name="fediverse:creator" ...> or other references to the old account.
I do see the correct author metadata but sharing an individual post yields a link to the old instance. Maybe that’s because I’m sharing old posts created prior to the migration?
As for author attribution in the blog index, that would be nice but not a priority for me.
Great! It’s possible that those pages were just cached for a while on our end, which would’ve made it slower to see the changes on Mastodon. But glad it’s working now
There’s another issue possibly related to my Mastodon migration.
Under Customize > Post Signature, in the settings of my federated blog @paolo@journal.paoloamoroso.com I added the Mastodon handle of my personal account. This way replying to my blog’s toots from the Fediverse also mentions my Mastodon handle from which I can reply and interact.
This worked fine with the old Mastodon instance @amoroso@fosstodon.org but not the new one @amoroso@oldbytes.space.
