Add frequently used hotkeys to text editor

When inputting text in the text editor, it would be more productive to press CTRL + I and automatically generate italic text tags instead of writing them manually. Actually Discoure’s text editor already has this. Something similar would be nice.

Great idea! We are in the process of working on a WYSIWYG version of the editor that will have hotkeys included. Would love your feedback on that if you’re interested:

Rich Editor That Also Supports Markdown

Hi @fjhvio! We are actually now in the process of developing a WYSIWYG editor (basically a rich text editor) as an additional option to the plain-text editor for both Write.as & WriteFreely. Would love to open it up to feedback and suggestions from everyone about what you’d like from a rich text mode/WYSIWYG editor. There are a lot of ways to implement it (as you’ve brought up @fjhvio) so we’re curious what y’all think!

But do you think having the standard editor with hotkeys would be beneficial as well? Thanks for the input @agyild!

I normally use the standard markdown editor and have no need for WYSIWYG. It’s just I want to be able to quickly insert formatting tags just as I am writing within a code editor.
