Font for low vision readers

is it possible to include Atkinson Hyperlegible free font to my blogs without using Google Fonts or any external CDN?

Problem is Google Fonts is not GDPR compliant and alternatives like bunny.net seems to be blocked by some DNS (for ads).

is there a way to host this font on Write.as?

Unfortunately we don’t have anything set up for that right now… I’ve considered making something like this available for Write.as users, but I’m not sure if that would actually help with GDPR compliance.

It would, in that it would all come from the same source. Instead of having to GDPR point to another company (err, corporation), all remains with the privacy policies of write.as

I second this request for a vision impaired friendly font. Looks like atkinson hyperlegible is the crown of them, and that the T&C of the braille institute allow for the use of the font without restriction (with regards to providing it for use on write.as)

Right now the options at write.as are serif, sans-serif and monospace. Maybe have a 4th for the vision impaired? Or offer the font through a link by attach.as ? Thanks!

Sounds like the OP has tried using custom CSS. But I’ll post the below for those who found this topic and don’t have the GDPR concern.

I’ve applied Atkinson Hyperlegible with custom CSS (I guess doesn’t get around the GDPR privacy protections). For anyone who wants to try, go to your blog’s Customize page. Then look for the Custom CSS section. Maybe this helps someone.

Am I wrong in thinking that the visitor needs to have Atkinson Hyperlegible installed locally, or the CSS needs to load, import, the font files from a source? Like this:
